Imaging Options
Plastic surgery in the 21st century is all about options and education. Patients have a very large array of choices when it comes to picking services and the physicians who provide them. For this reason, Dr. Payne has incorporated the Canfield Mirror Imaging System into his busy cosmetic practice.
This imaging system helps the patient to have a better idea of what they might look like after a given surgical procedure. The patient’s image is first recorded with a digital camera. This image is transferred onto a computer screen and then the image is altered using computers and medical software to simulate what the anticipated operative procedure will do to make that body part look better. The patient may then view a split screen image showing the before image adjacent to the after image. Side-by-side images are very helpful in communicating possible results.
This technology may be used to demonstrate before and after changes with any body part. It is particularly helpful when educating patients about certain surgical procedures such as rhinoplasty, chin implants, liposuction of the thighs and other areas, etc.
It is important to emphasize that these images are primarily used to educate and inform the potential surgery patient. The before and after images used with this system will not correlate precisely with how the patient will look after surgery but helps the patient to understand how changes in a given body part may appear. There is no warranty given or implied with respect to these preoperative images and the actual postoperative result.
If you would like to preview your potential postoperative result then please let Dr. Payne’s staff know about your interest in this option. You will need to schedule a consultation with Dr. Payne for this to happen. His office staff will then arrange for your imaging session. At your consultation he will perform a thorough history and physical and review the planned surgical procedure with you including your Canfield Mirror Imaging System image analysis.
You will also be given the option to review our Before and After albums which contain patient examples of this type of surgery. All the patients in our Before and After albums are clients that Dr. Payne has personally operated upon. Dr. Payne strives to educate and inform his patients as much as possible. We want you to feel well taken care of prior to surgery. We encourage all our patients to ask all the questions they want to. We will provide you with brochures and other printed information relating to your surgery/treatment. Dr. Payne will take as much time with you as you require both before and after surgery to make sure your needs are met.
